International PhD Programs and Masters Scholarships for Study Abroad:
PhD in Molecular Medicine and Bioinformatics (FIMM-EMBL) – Finland
Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) is an international research institute in Helsinki focusing on human genomics and personalized medicine. FIMM integrates molecular medicine research and technology center and biobanking infrastructures “under one roof” and thereby promotes translational research and adoption of personalized medicine in health care. Research projects include genome studies for personalized health and medical interventions, development of individualized cancer medicine, and novel diagnostics via tissue and cell imaging. The disease areas of interest of the 19 research groups cover cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurology, and viral infections.
FIMM in partnership with EMBL, is currently looking for Doctoral students for the August 2016 start.

International PhD Program in Immunology, Neurobiology, Vascular Biology and Inflammation (Medical University of Vienna) – Austria
The Medical University of Vienna is offering CCHD, the PhD program in Bio-Molecular Medicine for international students. Projects include basic, applied and clinical sciences with a broad spectrum of experimental techniques. Admitted PhD students will receive funding for at least three years including support to visit international conferences and specialized workshops. Applicants must hold a final degree in master studies of Medicine, Dentistry, or in any scientific/technical subject-related diploma studies (such as Cell or Molecular Biology) by the commencing term of the program.

Imperial College PhD Scholarship – UK
The 3rd round application is going on for fully funded PhD positions at the Imperial College London. Call is open for high caliber undergraduate and Master’s students with motivation for PhD program.
Funding:
- Full funding for tuition fees
- A stipend of GBP 20,600 per year to cover living expenses
- Research consumables worth of GBP 2,000 per year for the first three years.

Tuition Fee Scholarships 2016/17 – University College Dublin
All successful applicants for Masters programs at University College Dublin (UCD), who are citizens of and resident in India, are eligible for full and partial tuition fee scholarships.
Number and Value of Scholarships:
- 7 Full (100%) tuition fee Scholarships (Giri Global Excellence Graduate Scholarship)
- 7 Half (50%) tuition fee scholarships (UCD Global Excellence Graduate Scholarship)

PhD Position in RNA Structural Biology using NMR – Sweden
A doctoral position is available at Karolinska Institute (Sweden) for the project on understanding how RNAs change their structures in order to perform function. The PhD student will be a part of the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, within the group of Katja Petzold at the Division of Molecular Structural Biology. The PhD student will elucidate the structure of a model RNA using different biophysical methods. The project includes large scale RNA production for structural characterization, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) elucidation and development of new methods in RNA biochemistry, NMR or computational tools for analysis. You will work in a team together with other lab members and regularly present the research work in lab-meetings, seminars and at international conferences.

PhD position in Immunology and Virology – Sweden
A doctoral (PhD) position is available within the group of Sara Gredmark Russ (sara.gredmark.russ@ki.se), within the Center for Infectious Medicine at Karolinska Institute, Sweden. The research focus will be on studying Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) in the context of viral pathogenesis and the interaction of the virus with the immune system in humans. The research is translational and combines experimental virology and immunology with ex vivo studies of patient material as well as clinical studies and vaccination studies. The long-term goal is to generate a better understanding of the details of the pathogenesis in TBEV to aid in the development of specific treatment and better vaccination options for patients. The position is available for highly motivated individual to join the group to work on a project on the CD8 T cell response during TBEV infection and the underlying mechanisms of how TBEV interfere with, and activate, inflammatory responses in dendritic cells.

Master Scholarship for Chemistry and Bioscience 2016 – University of Queensland
The School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland invites outstanding students who are citizens of India or of countries in Latin America to apply for a postgraduate coursework scholarship to cover 50% of tuition fees in the Master of Biotechnology, Master of Molecular Biology or Master of Bioinformatics programs.

IBEC International PhD Programme “la Caixa” – Severo Ochoa Fellowships 2016/17
The IBEC PhD fellowship program in open now (January 18, 2016). IBEC is one of the top research institutions named as a Severo Ochoa Research Centre by Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in Spain. The Severo Ochoa award provides 4 million Euro over 2015-2019 to implement IBEC’s Research and Human Resources Programmes.

Copenhagen Bioscience PhD Programme 2016/17
The Copenhagen Bioscience PhD programme is a new initiative that offers talented students with a university degree from outside of Denmark an opportunity to launch their careers in the vibrant environment of the Novo Nordisk Foundation research center cluster. Sixteen students will be recruited annually through the programme for enrolment in August the same year. In 2016 the programme will be open for applications from January 4 to February 29.
Students will be selected based on academic achievements, research experience, academic references and interviews. The interviews will take place in Copenhagen on April 18-19, 2016. The Novo Nordisk Foundation will pay for travel and accommodation for selected candidates in association with the interview visit.

Aga Khan International (Postgraduate) Scholarship Programme
Outstanding students with financial need from selected developing countries (including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria) are eligible to apply for Aga Khan Scholarship for Master and Doctoral (PhD) studies. The Aga Khan Foundation gives priority to requests for Master’s level courses but is willing to consider applications for PhD programs, only in the case of outstanding students who are highly recommended for doctoral studies by their professors and who need a PhD for the fulfilment of their career objectives (academic or research oriented).
Scholarship Scheme: Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant and 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July.
Amount of Scholarship: Full tuition fees and living expenses
Application Deadline: Indian Students with Offer Letter should apply before March 16, 2016.
